What do I do first?
Once you’ve decided on a photo that you’d like to have recreated, simply e-mail the image to Jean@gerardart.com. You can send the photo from your computer, iPad or other tablet device, even from your phone.
Can you make a color painting from a black and white photo?
Yes. I will probably just ask for a few specifics from you first.
What size does the photo have to be?
It can be any size! Even small photos from your phone.
Do I need to mail my photo to you? Can I email it?
Either method is acceptable, but email is fastest and easiest.
Can you remove things from photos, or change them to meet specific desires?
Yes. I usually remove any undesired or unsightly items (such as telephone wires or
unknown bystanders). Just let me know what you want left out. Here is an example:
the client wanted the legs (the human ones!) and the leads removed from the photo.
 It creates a much cleaner composition. |

Can you put two photos together into one painting?
Yes. I may contact you for some specifics.
Will the painting look exactly like the photo?
No! The idea is to capture the essence of the subject. You already have a photo: a painting should be a way to enhance and enliven the subject. You want something a little more interesting, perhaps more colorful, or just more “lively”. Here are some samples:

I would like my business sign to be a painting for my website. Can you do that?
Yes. I can paint your sign and/or your building. Just send me a photo!

Can I see my painting before you send it to me?
Your photo will be emailed to you with a watermark embedded. As soon as you let me know that you’re satisfied, I will email you the file (or the painting) depending on your choice.
How long does it take for you to finish my painting?
It depends on the level of complexity. Most paintings can be completed with in 48 hours for your approval. Once I view the reference photo I'll be able to give you a better estimate. If you need a faster turnaround please let me know at the beginning and see if it is do-able.
Can I have you create the art without your signature?
If the art is created for you (commissioned): yes, we will remove the signature, if requested. Art purchased from our Gallery retains the signature.
How big can I print my art?
The optimal printing size is about 10" x 12". Most prints will print larger quite nicely, we have printed successfully on a banner. We can advise you once we determine the level of detail.
